Camera Operator, Drone Pilot, Assistant Cameraman, Safety Diver
I’m a freelance natural history film crew member for some of TV's most well-known and beloved programs. Specializing in underwater filmmaking, I've worked on dive film crews for clients such as National Geographic, Disney +, BBC, Netflix, and AppleTV.
My role on the dive team has been in either a supporting role as an Assistant Cameraman, and/or in a safety role as a Safety Diver and Dive Supervisor. I've recently started to take on more camera operating roles as I endeavor to make that my primary field of focus. I also have my FAA Part 107 commercial drone license and work as a drone pilot.
Originally from Buffalo, NY, I grew up with a passion for the water by sailing and snorkeling in the neighboring Great Lakes. It wasn’t until I got SCUBA certified on a chance trip to Thailand in 2012 that I discovered the beauty of the natural world beneath the waves. I was immediately hooked, and after missing my return flight to America I began an 18 month journey across two continents that culminated in becoming a dive instructor in the Philippines.
In 2016, after two years of teaching and guiding divers on wrecks in the Philippines, I moved to the lush, kelp filled waters of Catalina Island, California. It was there that I got my first opportunity to work in the film industry as a Dive Supervisor on a sequence for BBC’s Blue Planet II. While on the island, I continued to log hundreds of dives a year, purchased an underwater camera setup, and got certified on 2 separate rebreather units. All that hard work paid off in 2019 when I got my first assisting job working again for the BBC, but this time for Apple TV’s screensavers. Through my performance and the connections I made on that shoot, I was able to start working full time in the natural history film industry. In 2020 I moved to San Diego to better position myself for regional work. I continue to work on natural history projects both locally and throughout the world.
